The Community Foundation Supporting Southwest Colorado is proud to present the 2022 Community Concerts series every Wednesday from July 13–August 17, 5:00-7:00 PM, at the Rochester Hotel’s Secret Garden, 726 E 2nd Avenue, in downtown Durango. Tickets for each event are $10 at the door on the day of the event, or you can purchase a discounted online punch pass for $50. The punch pass is valid for six punches—you may use one punch each week, or all six punches in one week—or any combination in between!

Three Springs Plaza Tuesday, July 19th 6-8pm – Featuring: Black Velvet Nina Sasaki and Larry Carver have been performing together full time as the core duo of Black Velvet since 2009. They play 75-80 shows a year at venues throughout southwest Colorado and northern New Mexico, and are often joined at the larger venues by backing musicians to play as a trio or full band. Their sound blends Nina’s velvety smooth vocals and acoustic rhythm guitar with Larry’s melodic and passionate electric lead guitar work, and covers a wide range of rock, blues, jazz and country. Tuesday, July 26th 6-8pm – Featuring: Kirk James A blues performer for over 20 years, Kirk is known for his strong blues guitar style and distinctive vocals. James plays both original material and also classics from the Blues Masters! He is a local favorite. Thursday, August 4th 6-8pm – Featuring: Maddy & Kev A singer/songwriter duo from Mancos, Colorado. Asleep at the Wheel and Ray Benson have been the chief practitioners, conspirators, and caretakers of Western Swing Carrying the torch lit by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys well into the 21st century, influencing their contemporaries as well as the next generation of artists inspired by the great bandleader. Their bearing of the western swing torch has yielded three Bob Wills tribute albums: “A Tribute to the Music of Bob Will”, “Ride with Bob” and “Still the King”. These records have won multiple Grammy awards and have featured a wide range of musical guests including such veterans as George Strait, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, the Manhattan Transfer, Merle Haggard, Huey Lewis and Garth Brooks as well as young roots artists like the Avett Brothers, Old Crow and the Medicine show and Amos Lee. The Durango Farmers Market is a venue for local agriculturalists, ranchers and artisans to meet and share their harvest and talents with the Durango community. At our market you have the opportunity to meet face to face with the producers and learn more about their growing methods. Vendors post their farming practices at their booth and most follow organic growing methods. Our market also offers hot ready to eat food from local vendors, value added foods such as jams, jellies and sauces and local artisans who make high-quality handcrafted items. All vendors must produce their goods within our five-county radius ensuring fresh produce and locally made goods. We also have live music performances each weekend as well as community information booths for non-profits and groups that promote our market values of local, sustainable and healthy living. Amplify your summer with “Rockin’ on the River”, a free music series on five Sunday’s throughout the Summer at The Powerhouse. This family friendly music series will feature local and regional bands, including Lavalanche, High Country Hustle, Elder Grown, Robert Kent Voss, and Red Light Cameras. Located outside on the Carver Family Plaza from 4:00pm-7:00pm, this summer series will host food trucks, local craft vendors, and The Powerhouse bar for drink purchases. All events will be rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
