The Steamworks Half Marathon will take place in the San Juan Mountains on June 11, 2022. This high-elevation, 13.1 mile race will take place at 6,500 feet above sea level. The course is a point-to-point route. Runners will race down county road 250, alongside the Animas River. The race will finish at the Durango Sports Club on Florida Road. After the race, enjoy a party by the pool at Durango Sports Club with food and drinks from Steamworks Brewing and Homeslice Pizza. The race is capped at 300 runners and it will sell out, so be sure to register as soon as possible. The race will begin at 8 am, with an additional start time at 7:15 am for those who need longer to complete the course. Runners have the option to be bussed to the start line from the Durango Sports Club on the morning of the race. OR, be dropped off by a friend or family member. However, there is no parking available at the start line. Please plan accordingly. Packet pickup will take place on Friday June 10 from 10am – 6pm at Durango Running Company, 473 E. College Dr.

Durango First Friday Art crawl with local goods, food, culture, and music. Every first Friday of the month, starting May 5th, 2023! Hosted by Local First, Durango Creative District, and the Art Room Collective Durango First Friday is a celebration of all things local in our incredible mountain town- art and music, culture, unique goods, real food, movement makers, and our amazing community! Free and open to the public, this self guided, monthly event will take place rain or shine, the First Friday of every month throughout Durango with a focus on main street from north to south! Businesses of any and all kinds open their doors and their walls to host an artist of their choice and follow a “reception” format- artist info, beverages and/or snacks provided, maybe even a musician- while locals and tourists alike flood the area to socialize, shop, eat, and celebrate the arts in all forms.
